WIP New painting - Sea

Getting more time to paint on Photoshop so I will now post more regularly new images. Trying to work using shapes, forcing strong contrast and using the abstract do some of the narrative. The boat still needs a lot of rendering and correcting as does the background. I still like the sort of parchment look it has but the sails as well definitely need work. I might do something crazy with them.

Hey Paul,

Still big on the nautical theme, I see. Love those waves, very illustrative. It was nice of you to pop by the 'good luck' post on the group blog a few days back. Hope all is well with you and you're enjoying yourself a little more these days. I look forward to seeing more digital paintings from you - and even some Maya? ;) Take care.

from your previous paintings of sea , this one looks so much different , bold in style. However, that cloud-looking shape is very similar in size with the ship and kind of concurs with it, stealing some attention away.

Thanks Phil and JJ for the comments, JJ I agree I am actually thinking now to completely restart the ship, tilt it a bit to explain the guns firing and rerendering the smoke clouds to fit more into the image.
